Wapanocca Lake

Wapanocca Lake is a 600-acre reservoir located within the Wapanocca National Wildlife Refuge near the town of Turrell (Crittenden County). The refuge was established in 1961 and covers 5,484-acres of prime delta bottomland. In addition of the lake, the area has 1,800 acres of marshland and is a prime spot for bird and wildlife watching. From Ark. 42, travel east 1.5 miles to the refuge. Public use facilities include a visitor station, observation platform, boat launch and nature drive. Call the Refuge headquarters at 870-343-2595.
