Northwoods Trail System
What to know
Experience 26 miles of world-class mountain bike trails just five minutes from downtown Hot Springs. Designed and built by IMBA, the International Mountain Bicycling Association Trail Solutions crew, the Northwoods Trail System has something for all ages, skill levels and styles of riding. Perfect for a day of XC riding or ripping down the flow trails catching some air.
The trails include Green, Blue and Black singletrack, multi-track, flow trails and jump lines. Northwoods’ Lucky 13 Black Diamond Downhill Trail brings riders from near and far to experience the big berms, steep step-ups and step-downs and gap jumps. Not at the Lucky 13 level just yet? No worries, riders also love hitting Blue Jay and Ragnarok, two of the favorite intermediate flow trails where the features are just a bit smaller but loads of fun. There are four trailheads within the Northwoods System.
The Waterworks Trailhead, located at 300 Pineland Drive, has a beautiful view of Bethel Lake as well as bike wash and maintenance stations.
The Pullman Trailhead is located at 800 Pullman Avenue and is less than two miles from Downtown Hot Springs. If you are looking to ride into the trails from your place of stay, the Pullman Trailhead and Trail is your best option. The Pullman Trail connects the Park Avenue community to the trails by crossing through Hot Springs National Park property over Sunset Ridge and dropping down into the Northwoods Trails. The Cedar Glades Park trailhead located at 461 Wildcat Road includes a bike skills area, playground, covered pavilion and has a bike wash and maintenance station as well.
The Bull Bayou Trailhead located at 1124 Cedar Glades Road has a playground area and covered pavilion. The Northwoods is home to the annual Güdrun MTB Festival each November. With planned future phases, Northwoods will have nearly 45 miles of trails surrounded by 2,000 acres of
wilderness.
