What to know
More than 3.1 million acres of forestland are included within the three national forests in Arkansas. The U.S. Forest Service has developed campgrounds at scenic points in these woodlands. Most of these campgrounds are located in ruggedly beautiful mountainous terrain, and are designed to blend into the landscape to preserve the forest atmosphere. Hiking trails and small wading area. Hunts Loop Trail connects to Ouachita National Recreation Trail. Vault toilets, picnic sites, historic picnic shelters, walkway to springs. (Open year-round.
