What to know
Located in the beautiful Ouachita Mountains in the small town of Mount Ida is a gem of a place called the Heritage House Museum of Montgomery County, that hold lots of treasures from the county. We'd love to have you join us for the 15th Annual Sorghum Festival on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 9am to 4pm. We'll have sorghum tasting with hot biscuits & fresh cookies, craft vendors, food, live music, working grist mill, rope making, flint knapping, blacksmithing, old time tool presentations- educational exhibits and our own Owley Swing (Antique Merry-Go-Round/Courting Swing). Free Admission- Tour the museum, 1880's log home & our barn.
We'll host our Best of the Best Beard & Mustache Contest where all the proceeds will go to build a cover for our Sorghum Mill. 10am registration and winners announced at 2pm, you do not have to be present to win! Remember to bring your money, it's 25 cents per vote!!
