Mount Magazine State Park

The trail to Signal Hill, Arkansas’ highest peak at 2,753 feet, starts just steps from the parking lot of The Lodge at  Mount Magazine State Park near Paris. Eureka Springs

Eureka Springs is a photogenic mountain town with hillside streets built for wandering. Strike a playful pose at the rainbow-painted staircase, a romantic shot against the Victorian architecture, or a timeless one as you say your vows within the soaring wood and glass of Thorncrown Chapel. Whitaker Point

In the Upper Buffalo Wilderness, this sandstone outcrop offers one of the most iconic and most photographed views in the state. Whether you take a photo of the rock ledge or from it, the surrounding landscape is stunning, especially in the fall. The hike is moderate. The view is not.

Waterfalls

Waterfalls are always Instagram-worthy and Arkansas has more than 200. At 209 feet tall, Hemmed-In Hollow Falls near Ponca is the tallest between the Rockies and the Appalachians. Little Missouri Falls in the Ouachita National Forest near Mena spills into swimming holes deep in the forest. Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art

You can’t go wrong with a photo of the LOVE sign at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville. Then, walk the outdoor trails for plenty of other photo-worthy fun with sculptures large and small set against Ozark woodland. There’s plenty to love in the indoor galleries, too.

Natural Bridge, Ozark Mountains

A 100-foot sandstone arch near Clinton , this natural formation served as a literal bridge for early settlers moving through the Ozarks. It's still standing, still photogenic, and still worth the stop.

Greers Ferry Lake

Sugar Loaf Mountain island on the western end of Greers Ferry Lake near Fairfield Bay is home to Arkansas’ first designated National Scenic Trail. A shuttle runs year-round from Fairfield Bay Marina, or rent kayaks and paddle about 1.5 miles across open water to reach it. The roundtrip hike to the summit is 1.6 miles, with bluff formations and wooded ridgelines along the way, plus panoramic lake views from the top.
