Ouachita National Forest
Find a forest to explore
More than 2.9 million acres are included within the two national forests in Arkansas: the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest and the Ouachita National Forest. Hiking trails and campgrounds developed by the U.S. Forest Service show off the scenic points in these woodlands. With over 52 Arkansas State Parks, there are trails that will best fit your excursion type.
Many of the campground locations are located in ruggedly beautiful mountainous terrain, and are designed to blend into the landscape to preserve the atmosphere of each forest in Arkansas. Other recreational opportunities you can find include hiking trails, horseback or ATV trails, scenic drives, picnic areas, shooting ranges, and opportunities to watch wildlife, fish, hunt or canoe.
