Battery C Park

Battery C was one of four batteries located at Helena to defend the city from enemy attack by the Federal army.  This battery played an important role in the Battle of Helena on July 4, 1863 and was briefly held by Confederate forces.

What to know

One of four earthen batteries erected by the Union army. It briefly fell to the Confederates during the Battle of Helena on July 4, 1863. This distinct site affords a stunning view of the city. Battery C is now maintained by the Delta Cultural Center.
