Mid-America Science Museum
What to know
Arkansas’s largest hands-on science center and first Smithsonian Affiliate with over 100 engaging, hands-on exhibits that explore the wonders of energy, matter, life and perception. Mid-America has been a major source of learning and fun for Hot Springs and surrounding region since 1979. A $7.8 million dollar grant from Donald W. Reynolds Foundation has enabled the museum to add 75 state of the art exhibits in the new Arkansas Underfoot Gallery and the Bob Wheeler Science Skywalk. Teachers and students can view the night sky and tour the solar system using top digital planetarium software. Displayed on a 180-degree screen with surround sound, the Oaklawn Foundation Digital Dome Theater provides educational programming for anyone who is interested in space exploration.
