Dedicated to preserving the history of Montgomery County from 1800 to 1975; preserves words, deeds, and activities of county ancestors; special emphasis on the effects and contributions of the timber industry, quartz crystal, and Lake Ouachita; exhibit barn constructed by local craftsmen using local materials provides additional exhibit space. Authentic 1880s log house moved from Alamo, AR, to museum property and refurbished. 1940s Eleanor style outhouse moved from Pine Ridge, AR. Sorghum cooking stand and mill constructed on-site. Annual spring Heritage Day with demonstrations and displays on the museum grounds. Annual fall Sorghum Squeezin' Day with sorghum making and tasting along with additional demonstrations
