Bentonville Film Festival Individual Tickets Now on Sale
Individual tickets go on sale today (April 13) for the Bentonville Film Festival taking place May 5-9. While I highly recommend that you get tickets, I have one warning for you as you go to the website to make that purchase.
Whatever you do, don’t go to the Bentonville Film Festival website and start watching the early submission movie trailers – not if you have things to do or deadlines to meet – because you won’t be able to stop at just one. I know this because I’ve been trying to write this blog for days. Every time I get on the website to look up information, I end up watching trailers and forgetting what I went to the site to do in the first place.
The movie previews are fantastic and I can’t wait for this inaugural festival in Northwest Arkansas. Of course, the other clue that this will be an incredible film event is the people involved with it.
Hosted by ARC Entertainment, Walmart, Coca-Cola and AMC Theatres and chaired by Academy Award-winning Actor Geena Davis, the festival will screen approximately 75 films in competition, ranging from studio premieres to independent features and documentaries.
The Festival’s Advisory Board is comprised of entertainment industry leaders and artists including Angela Bassett, Bruce Dern, Samuel L. Jackson, Randy Jackson, Eva Longoria, Julianne Moore, Paula Patton, Natalie Portman, Nina Tassler and Shailene Woodley. During and after the festival, each advisory board member will lead activities ranging from mentoring, film selection advising, and to jury participation.
And yet another appeal is that BFF is designed to champion women and diversity in film. Geena Davis has been an advocate for women most of her adult life. The Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media is dedicated to improving the representation in gender and diversity of talent, filmmakers, and business leaders by growing awareness through research, education and advocacy.
In addition to the film screenings, the Bentonville Film Festival will include a star studded award show hosted by Geena Davis and presented by Kraft Foods Group, multiple panel discussions with celebrities and industry leaders, and family film night events that will be free to the public and held in exciting non-traditional venues.
So, get some tickets and watch a few trailers because you know you can’t wait to.
